This project was concieved of by Devin Aeh Canary after being inspired by a facebook post by our friend Olivia. It was the Spring of 2014 and the women of Athens were contemplating again whether it was best to shave or not to shave. Many people expressed that they hated shaving but did it anyway because of societal pressures. Devin enlisted her friend, Tina Fisher, to create a set of portraits showing women proudly displaying their body hair in hopes of decreasing stigma and empowering other women to whatever it is they choose with their bodies, despite societal norms.
